Opened in September 2011, through a partnership with the International School of Europe, ISBergamo is an International School offering a multicultural education to children starting from 30 months.

Our Key Success Factors:

• English language- English is the language of instruction. Mother tongue teachers follow an educational programme based on the International Baccalaureate®.
• Multicultural education- the dialogue among students and teachers of different nationalities is a fundamental and necessary factor for the development of cognitive abilities and the promotion of an open, multicultural setting.
• Child centered learning- Learning is focused on the student’s needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles with the teacher as a facilitator of learning. It requires students to be active, responsible participants in their own learning.
• Inquiry based learning- An inquiry based approach puts the child at the centre of the learning process and encourages learning for life.  Children are given the opportunity to become involved with their own learning and begin to question, investigate, explore, reflect and take risks in order to succeed in new challenges, building essential skills for the future.
• Daily Italian lessons- Italian is a daily subject at ISBergamo. Mother tongue Italian students follow the  Programma Ministeriale. Students who are learning Italian as a foreign language, follow a specific second language course to enable them to speak, read and write with increasing fluency.
• Attractive school facilities– Students can benefit from new, specilised facilities including a gymnasium, an art lab, a music room, a seperate italian room, a primary years library, a dining room and a cosy sleeping room for the Early Years.
• Digital Education- all classes are equipped with a Smartboard and all children from Grade 1 are engaged in the iPad 1:1 project.

In September 2011 ISBergamo implemented its first 4 classes: Kindergarten, Transition, Grade 1, Grade 2.

Year after year, the school will open subsequent classes following children born in 2005.
