The TURNIP Game

The TURNIP Game has been developed with the aim of making the Food Project child friendly. Through the game, families are encouraged to cook different vegetables for their children. Thanks to the “vegetable points” and seasonal awards, children are stimulated to try the vegetables and learn more about them.

Through the T.U.R.N.I.P Project I become*:

- An inquirer : I am stimulated to learn about the world around me: what vegetables look like, how they taste, when they grow, how they grow, why they are good for me…

- A thinker : I understand the seasons and the life cycle of vegetables

- A communicator : I present to my class what I felt by tasting the vegetable, whether I liked it, and what emotions it gave to me.

- A risk-taker : I am stimulated to try new tastes!

Knowledgeable : I learn all about the different vegetables

Principled : I learn how take part in a competition, abide to rules and play fairly

Caring : I learn how  to grow some of the vegetables, plant them, give them water and watch them grow

Open-minded : I become open to new experiences in terms of taste.
