Virtual Learning

Following the additional ministerial decree published on March 9th confirming that all schools, nationally, will be closed until April 3rd 2020 inclusive, our ‘virtual’ schools will continue to operate. The implementation of this has been met positively as we have strived, in the face of adversity, to continue the education of our students; acting quickly to leverage the technology and e- learning capabilities of the Inspired group and supporting the skills required for independent learning. As part of their unit of inquiry, Language Learners, the grade 4 students have been excellent communicators through #poetry. They have participated in a poetry-writing competition last week. Massive congratulations to our winners, Artemide (G4A) and Bianca (G4D). Our runners up in G4A were Chloe, Elisa and Leonardo. G4D’s runners up were Caterina, Federico and Nicolò.
Here are their fantastic poems. Well done everyone for those creative and wacky ideas!

Our fantastic Grade 6 students finally presented their findings after a 7-week inquiry into a topic of interest. They worked thoroughly in groups, developing their central ideas and lines of inquiry despite the lockdown. Their virtual presentations were of the highest standard and we are ever so proud of you all. Congratulations G6, you have truly made the most of your learning journey in the PYP.

We would like to extend a big thank you to all of the G6 teachers, mentors and families who have guided and supported the children during these challenging weeks!

We are so proud of the effort that the G6 students have been putting into this challenging experience where they have worked in small groups for 7 weeks, collaborating virtually and developing their own units of inquiry.
We look forward to seeing all the work that you have been doing and wish you the best of luck for the culmination of your learning journey in the Primary Years Programme.

Our group is working on a unit called Creativity Express. Our unit is about how people express their creativity, the creative process and how everyone expresses their individuality in their own way. We are also learning about different ways people express themselves such as through dance, clothing, art and music. We have decided to do this action because our second line of inquiry is focused on the concept of perspective. This action aims to show what the school community sees in different works of art, what they are reminded of or how it makes them feel. Thank you for being a part of our action!
