The 'oxygen', for an organisation like International School of Bergamo, is undoubtedly represented by its students.
"Everything, in fact, revolves around them," emphasise the two founders Chiara Traversi and Guia Ghidoli. "As a school able to offer the International Baccalaureate Continuum - i.e. having implemented all three IB programmes, from the Early Years to the High School - it is an acquired fact for us to see the programmes represented as concentric circles, in the middle of which is the student and, all around, International Mindfulness. An international school makes sense where the community is truly international and the students are able to approach the world from all possible angles, precisely in order to look above the infinite angles and find the curvature that allows them to no longer see the boundaries".
International School of Bergamo has long since - even before it became a trend topic - integrated the goals of the SDGs into its programmes, whose common denominator is to make people realise that every individual is nonetheless part of a world where all living beings can coexist peacefully.
"The vision of man at the centre of the universe has perhaps had its day. The hot summer, which has just ended, reminds us that we have to cohabit on a single planet, on which we all breathe the same precious oxygen!" concludes Chiara Traversi.
